The story of FOLLOW 13

Laurence Boyer's great escape, lawyer and gallery owner

In 2019, a badly broken leg prompted Laurence Boyer, a lawyer at the Paris Bar for thirty years, to slow down, take the time to breathe, to dream. She remembers having often oscillated between the passion for her profession and the desire to create.

Like her grandfather and sister, who were painters. Or like her poet mother, or her incredible grandmother Jeanne, a milliner, who took flight at a time when few women dared.

Once her leg was restored, she walked past the shop at 67 rue Lepic every day. It was for rent. She rented it, thinking it would make a lovely studio, just steps from her home, for…?

While waiting to find out, she thought the walls of this lovely boutique would be perfect for an exhibition. She talked it over with her daughter Morgane, who told her, "You should open a gallery instead." So she did! It would be called FOLLOW 13, so people could follow her, and for good luck.

Positive art

To exhibit benevolent works that evoke positive emotions, and pay homage to the beauty of the world and of creation .

This is a creed, a prism, a choice - almost political.

The will to believe that humanity can evolve through positive emotion, beauty, and awareness. To call for this conversation between that part of us that knows we can do and see better, and the part that remains trapped by the grip of daily life.

With no limitations on medium, the gallery represents artists who share a radiant and dreamlike approach to art.

A reversal of polarity in response to the horror and negativity of current events.

The commitment

Defending French artists

Follow 13 is a so-called "1st market" gallery [1] committed to making new artists known, and promoting their works and their quests.

She supports them in their work, and exhibits their works in her Parisian premises and at international fairs.

Linking artists and collectors, Follow 13 advises the latter in their search for the ideal piece.
